[INRAD] Combining Front-End Filters with Switching

INRAD Group:
I have an INRAD #807 Front End Filter for the range
1820-1825, and an old Sherwood FE-1825/6 6-pole front
end filter (s/n 0004) for the range 1825 - 1830 kHz).
I would like to combine these filters in a box with a
switch to select between them (with a bypass position
as well), as a part of an in-band "Single-Op 2 Receiver"
arrangement for CQWW 160 CW at PJ2T.
I assume that there is nothing special required to
switch between front-end filters - just direct the signal
path through one or the other (in my case, probably using
small reed relays), with all filters mounted with a
common ground. Any "gotchas" I should be alert to
avoid leakage or other problems?
Sherwood used to recommend a small (#47?) light bulb
between the input terminal and ground, and between the
output terminal and ground, to prevent destruction from
strong signals. Is there a cleaner way to protect the
filters, or is this Good Engineering Practice?
BTW, I sure would like an INRAD filter for 160m covering
1830-1835 kHz to add to the box!
