[INRAD] 1000mp MK V

Hi Stormy:

There won't be a problem, but the Yaesu 2.0 in the 3rd IF won't be as nice as an Inrad 2.1 in that slot. Personally, I like the Inrad 1.8 in the 2nd IF, and the Inrad 2.1 in the 3rd. I have had the Yaesu twin 2.0s, and returned them to the dealer. I have had the Inrad 1.8 3rd IF filter, and found it too narrow for everyday use. It was too fatiguing to listen with for long periods, but quite a QRM reducer. I have used the Collins 2.0 mechanical 3rd IF filter with the Inrad 1.8, but in the end, I moved the Collins to the second receiver, and I prefer the Inrad 2.1 3rd IF filter.

The combination of the 1.8 and 2.1 really does a nice job of QRM reduction, and the shift and width controls work very well. Audio quality is very good, especially with a slight offset of the shift control.

See you soon again on 20 meters.

73 and Happy Dxing,

Mike

First post to this nice site...Question...any nasty side effects if we use an Inrad 2.1 KHz 2nd I.f. and a
  Yaesu 2.0 KHz in the 3rd I.f. ?
