I had an FT-1000D in the mid-1990s and its fan was somewhat noisy by
comparison to the one in my MP, which as you say is barely noticeable.
However, your description of a loud buzzing sound leads me to believe that
the fan is failing due to wear or may have something coming in contact with
the blades. 

Before looking for a replacement fan try cleaning the air passages and look
for possible physical interference with the blades.
