I too am awaiting the Icom series International Radio roofing filters.
The data on their filters certainly look great and should solve a lot of
front end overloading from adjacent channel interference. My plans are
to install it plus a Ft-920 International Radio cascaded filter board
into my Icom 756. It uses the same frequency filter as Icom's 775 and
765 thus making it into a competitive radio. Inrad's cascaded filters
idea really does make a difference! I just installed one into a Yaesu
FT-980 which I still consider a good radio. DSP still has a way to go
until processing speeds are reached at affordable prices to utilize this
technology in the first stages. In my opinion until this happens crystal
filtering can't be beat. Every time I hear the term DSP it reminds me of
the dreaded woodpecker. Had it not been for a classified technology
called DSP return echo's of over the horizon Hf radar would never have
extracted a signal from the noise. 73's Charlie W5VIN
