Dear all:
The rig at my second home in the mountains of south eastern Switzerland is an earlier model of the ICOM IC-775DSP. The newly available roofing-filter received my attention and I have meanwhile built one into the TRX without removing the rf-board. Furthermore I removed the green terminal board on the INRAD filter as I prefer soldered connections throughout. The job was done in half an hour and the rig performs like one of the latest brands and models on the market. It is a joy to work on crowded bands.
I have some time ago built the Background Noise Reduction/Sensitivity Improvement Mod Kit into one of my other rigs, a FT-1000MP as well as improving the selectivity of an FT-897 with the 720F (2.0 kc) filter and appreciate the better performance very much.
Ordering and communicating with George, Georgia and Laurie at INRAD is a sheer pleasure and the goods, all of them well worth the money, arrive without hassle and within only a few days. If only some other U.S. companies would take a lesson ... !
