[INRAD] Roofing filter for the IC-775DSP

Given that commercial AM signals are broadcasting with a bandwidth of
6-8 kHz, and amateur narrowband FM is easily 10, those modes will be
constricted by a roofing filter with a width of 4 or so.
For a radio that was not designed with multiple roofing filters in
mind, the use of a narrow roofing filter for advantage in SSB/CW will
restrict AM and FM. For many, this is of no consequence. Others may
need to consider before purchase.
73, Guy.

Subject: [INRAD] Roofing filter for the IC-775DSP
701-B and 701-CI have found a thing that I finde strange in "IC-775
ROOFING FILTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS´"
"This may degrade the audio bandwidth for AM and FM reception
somewhat. Those modes will still be available for reception with the
sub receiver."
Is this really true?
/Anders
